On Monday, four or five friends all sent me the viral Alex G/lice tweet (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, don’t waste your time looking it up) through different digital means:

I swear there was a fifth, but this was like six days ago, after all
I’m not going to go down the road of media literacy and how obvious it was that it was a hoax and other various thoughts that might get me in trouble because I don’t want to do that, and besides, I wasted enough of your time last week when I wrote about Twitter. But honestly, it was a pretty funny joke.
And the show was good, too. The fact that Alex G was able to do multi-night stands in New York and Philadelphia remains cool to me. The first time I saw him was in the basement at 8908, and people talked through his solo acoustic set. I guess he remains the main “I was there” artist of my musical life, though plenty of other people can claim that fact, too. Anyway, the musicianship is good, the songs are good, the deep cuts are good and it was worth kind of an inconvenient weekend itinerary.
Here’s every time I have posted a Facebook status on Thanksgiving for the past dozen years:
At this point, Facebook exists only so I can make the same jokes on the same day every year. I hope everyone had a good Turkey Day.
Thank you for reading the 96th edition of Content Nausea. It will get better. Thank you, and see you soon.
